I had an excellent course this weekend with Donald J Patti where he entertained our group while presenting important information needed to pass the exam to become a Certified Scrum Master. I would absolutely recommend Donald J Patti and Grow-Lean.

Don Patti is an amazing facilitator, clear and expert in sustaining the attention span. It is a very interactive educational approach using Miro, Kahoot, and other ways to practice the reviewed theory. The CSM training group had a reasonable number of trainees so the instructor could pay attention to everyone and answer all the questions. I am ready to get certified. 5/5 stars, thank you!

Five weeks ago I hasn’t even heard about the concept of Agile Development. Last night I passed the CSM exam and was able to score 96%. This success is almost entirely down to the fantastic structure and clarity of the training course offered by Grow Lean, and the bright, supportive, positive and inspiring tutition of highly experienced trainer Don Patti. Taking a Grow Lean class means you benefit from their years of industry experience and course development. With the educational materials all being well refined and honed to give you clear and detailed information. It’s also worth pointing out just how much FUN the class is to take. For me that enjoyment of the experience was all down to the excellent atmosphere and approach of trainer Don Patti, and the highly enjoyable learning experience he has crafted as part of Grow Lean. Grow Lean also provide a lot of support with using Miro, and with practice exams. It cannot be overstated just how useful those practice tests are. Huge respect and appreciation is also due to the other learners on the course who also helped make this such a fun and positive experience.

David was the best facilitator, he made the lessons fun and interactive. He accommodated everyone and made sure that we all understood the content. The group actives and getting to know people from all around the world was a great experience

My overall experience was highly enjoyable and educational.

Great course, Don kept things moving along and interesting for all of us. Good balance of typical "lecture" class and interactive activities. Highly recommended if you are looking for a CSM or first Agile certification. If you already have another Agile cert, this course is going to be about 70% review of Agile and Scrum principles and maybe 30% focused on the Scrum Master's role. I honestly enjoyed the review though.

The Certified ScrumMaster session was better than expected. Not only did I learn about CSM from David Bulkin, but he made it fun. Meeting new people in the on-line class was great too. The was one of the best continued education courses I've taken. I am genuinely impressed with the knowledge my instructor, Chris, had. He was able to answer, from experience, questions far outside of scope with ease and to offer advice on how to handle certain situations should they arise. There is zero doubt in my mind that I'm going to be able to pass this cert. It will be mostly due to the instruction I received. The presentations and group activities were spot on in my professional experience. Using those small side meetings to get people talking introduces the mindset needed to be a scrum master. This gave practical experience on top of standard slideshows. You can tell that time and care went into the lesson plan. I am beyond impressed and this was thoroughly worth the time.

He had SO MUCH content prepared, which allowed him to ask the participants which topics were of most interest to us and customize the activities to address those key topics. There are many simulations and group exercises discussed through Miro board with Zoom breakout rooms for team discussions. David Bulkin's class for Certified Scrum Master was great. He presented the material in a way that was easily understandable and was energetic in doing so. Class size was only 11 people so he could spend time answering questions. He was also able to explain the material in ways relatable to my current position. I would highly recommend this class to anyone that is considering it.

He never read from the presentation slides, which was fantastic in explaining the material and keeping up my interest. I would definitely recommend David's class to a colleague.

It went well beyond teaching for passing a test. David cares that you walk away a deeper thinker than a robot who memorizes concepts for a cert. I liked that he pushed for understanding of the content rather than just reading slides. The class had great energy and interaction from all participants which I thought was well done for a zoom atmosphere. We were all engaged and somewhat entertained. David gets it and he knows how to present the information in a way that stimulates deep thought.

Prior to attending the session I had few limited, nearly zero knowledge amout Agile and Scrum. However, by the end of my session I had a thorough understanding on the subject. Not only did David Bulkin manage to cover all important aspects of Scrum within a short timespan of 13 hours, but the training itself was tailormade to allow me to grasp the entire concept of Scrum and Agile in a very practical sense. Since I was attending the session from outside U.S. I had to sit through until 3.00A.M. in the morning and not once was I finding it difficult or dull because he conducted the training in an extremely fun manner so I was energized throughout. Don Patti was superb teacher. He did not waver in his energy for teaching SCRUM and Agile to the class. I took the CSM test today and passed with flying colors! It's worth the investment. I highly recommend.

I enjoyed David's examples from his real-world experience and that he referred to class members to talk about specific applications of Agile that they've seen. The group was able to learn about applications of Scrum through each other's experience and see shades of different practices for unique needs at different companies. We also could learn about what others disliked, giving us something to think about as aspiring facilitators or eventual Scrum Masters.

I found that having a trainer with tons of experience very valuable. He has trained over 425 times and you can tell he has perfected the way he trains in order to impact us as trainees giving us a better opportunity to retain the knowledge. He was very inclusive and had everyone involved. He was intentional in how he spoke and delivered the knowledge in class in order to keep us all engaged.

I took a virtual 2-day CSM course with David Bulkin from Grow-Lean. I liked how he sent us pre reads ahead of time to help us make the best of the in-class time. The training was very engaging, interactive and had deep content. The games and examples were thought provoking and helped in a deeper understanding of scrum rather than highlighting just the scrum framework. Grow-Lean's sample tests in addition to David's instructions/explanations in class, made the actual CSM test very easy. I highly recommend Grow-Lean to anyone who is looking to understand Agile and Scrum and get many techniques in the implementation of Scrum.

I took a virtual 2 day CSM Course with David, who is really amazing at keep us as engaged as an in-person class with interactive exercises and partner work. David was dynamic, engaging, knowledgeable, and funny. He certainly knew the material and provided exercises and real-world examples to drive home the key points. The pre-readings and quizzes were a great way to get an introduction to the course and to get the basics down. I would recommend the course to anyone wanting this certification.

This class (CSM Certification) was perhaps the best delivered course I have taken in my career. Mr. Balkin was a master at presenting the material, including and engaging all of the class participants to ensure that learning was taking place, not merely knowing how to answer test questions. It was fun and interesting. Another notable observation - David Balkin was available from the beginning of the class start all the way to the ending and beyond. I don't think he ever left his teaching post. We were able to ask questions and clarifications during all of the breaks and even after the close of the day. I am HAPPY to recommend Grow-Lean and specifically Mr. David Balkin for any class course they offer!

Grow-Lean's Certified Scrum Master training provided by David Bulkin is fun and engaging. David does a great job at encouraging students to think outside the box and use teamwork to tackle all the unique situations one may encounter in the workplace instead of just trying to apply the same repeatable steps in all cases. Just completed Grow-Lean's Scrum Master course and my initial reaction to the course was that the instructor made learning fun! I have a grounded understanding of scrum basics and feel ready for the exam! The level of engagement for a two full-day virtual course was just right and David has consistent high energy and humor that allowed for a productive education!

This week I had the pleasure of taking the Certified Scrum Master course given by David Bulkin of Grow-Lean LLC. He was without a doubt, one of the best instructors I have ever had. It was definitely not your typical training class. David is extremely knowledgeable and shares his wealth of experience in a manner that captures the attention of all participants. He cares about the students and does everything possible to ensure that everyone will pass with ease. I can attest to that since I completed the class yesterday and passed the test this afternoon, with flying colors and plenty of time to spare. David is extremely personable and made what some would call “dry” material, actually interesting and definitely FUN! I’d highly recommend David’s classes to anyone who wants to actually learn, not just pass the exam!!

I felt completely prepared for the exam and passed it the first time. On top of that, and more importantly, I learned so much more than just what I needed to know for the class, I feel like I could really jump in as a CSM anywhere and be successful.

I appreciate the candor and real world practical realities of the project space as shared by the instructor rather than sticking to closely to boilerplate material. The instructor prepares you for the CSM exam, but goes above and beyond to ensure you take a way useful skills and knowledge to further develop your acumen and maturity in dealing with complex people/process situations. Likewise, the humor and atmosphere created by the instructor opened up the rest of the class to encourage participation, comfort and a friendly environment.

Tutor's expertise on the subject matter, real-world examples, small work groups, and lots of breaks in between to keep the focus. Allowing participants to share their real work experiences, approaches across varied industries was interesting and useful. This training provides complete knowledge and ideas to become a good Scrum Master and prepares sufficiently for the test. I thoroughly enjoyed the participation and passed the test within three days after the training! Thank you Grow-Lean!

The training was great. David is a great instructor; at no point did I feel like I was in training, but rather at a mentoring session, sharing stories and experiences. He was able to tie back all of the agile principles and scrum framework to past experiences and relate to our current situations, and in a way that made everything click. I registered for an in-person class, but with Covid-19, it was moved to virtual. I was hesitant... I dreaded sitting in front of my computer with the possibility of distractions, but that was not the case. David made it very interesting and kept everyone engaged.

David was incredibly passionate about the material he was teaching. Every time I attend a training somewhere, a part of me is always worried that the course and/or trainer will be rigid, leading to boredom, less retention, and not an overall great experience. With David, he took the time to show why what he was teaching was important, and always kept the dialogue light-hearted and entertaining. He's a great asset to Grow-Lean!

The thoroughness of the content. The instructor’s energy level. The amount of content in two days seemed perfect for preparation to take the exam. The information provided before and after the class. The practice exams were extremely helpful, particularly the one on Kahoot - fun and memorable.

I really appreciated David's teaching method/format for the virtual classroom and it worked for me. I'm a full time teleworker so while I was looking forward to the in-person training, the virtual classroom was not much of a stretch. I still got to meet different people and our breakout sessions into smaller groups let me get to know them a little bit better too. I must admit that it felt like there was definitely a lot more that we could have covered but then preparing for a virtual classroom on the eleventh hour was not something that David expected. He made it work though. In my opinion, he covered what was really important and that is, what the Scrum framework is all about, how to apply it to your own work and give you the foundations to be prepared for the exam. I didn't expect to know everything after leaving his class and that's okay. It gave me enough to be able to apply some things at work with what I learned in class. Oh, one more thing, the fact that the CEO of the Scrum Alliance checked-in to see how class was going shows the care and commitment of this company.

The breakout rooms and encouragement from David for everyone in the class to participate made it seem like we were actually in a physical room, I would highly recommend this class to anyone looking to get their CSM Certification!

It was highly interactive and David stretched to answer individual case specific questions. David was very dynamic, open for any questions, and made sure each and every individual was participating. He had good documentation and flash cards for Q/A which facilitated in better understanding.
