Discounts

Discounts for your situation.

Request your discount on the session (a class on date/time with a trainer) you want. If more than one discount applies explain in your comments.

You can pay in up to 12 installments by choosing Splitit at checkout.

For Grow-Lean Alumni, log in or use your account email when registering, and receive an automatic discount. If you also qualify for another discount, request it, and, if your email matches, we know you are an alumni.

If you have a Visa or Mastercard credit card you can pay in up to 12 monthly installments. There are no fees or interest if you pay on time! Your available credit must be enough to cover the full cost and there is a hold on your credit card for the amount that you have not paid.

For example, if your final fee is $1,000 and you chose 10 installments:

  • You would pay $100 today and have a $900 hold placed on your credit card.
  • The following month your credit card would be charged another $100 and the hold would be reduced to $800.
  • Each month you pay $100 and each month the hold is reduced by $100.

If you are not familiar with the term "hold" this is similar to what hotels do when you check in, to cover extra expenses you may incur including the mini bar.

The benefit to you is that you do not pay any interest or fees if all payments are on time.

After entering your request you may email us at Grow-Lean-Training@Grow-Lean.Com or call us +1.609.975.9294 for questions.

What You Learn

Workshop Agenda

What is Scaling?

As the picture suggests we cover popular scaling frameworks like SAFe, Scrum@Scale, LeSS, and FAST, but we also look more discretely at principles, patterns and practices because you don't need to be limited to a monolithic framework in it's entirety.

  • Defining Scaling
  • Examples of Scaling
  • Principles vs. Patterns vs. Practices vs. Frameworks vs. Methodologies
  • Principles of Scaling
  • Descaling
  • The Right Approach for the Situation
  • The Right Approach for the Time

Why Scale?

On the surface, we scale because we need more people. Perhaps we can think about the why, and the ramifications of scaling more broadly so go beyond getting bigger and get better instead.

  • Goals of Scaling
  • Understanding the Current State
  • Your Scaling Challenges
  • Scaling Challenge Simulation Game
  • Preparing to Scale – Fluency, Management Support and Dependency Management
  • Supporting & Investing in Change
  • Measuring Performance

How to Scale?

Many organizations pick a scaling framework, purchase some tools, have a couple of days of training for the staff, and then they consider themselves as agile. Perhaps we take a more mature perspective that recognizes scaling challenges and patterns of success.

  • A Model of Scaling
  • Pattern & Practice Libraries
  • Applying Patterns to Challenges
  • Making Scaling Challenges Visible
  • Alignment & Prioritization Patterns
  • Scaling Frameworks – SAFe, LeSS, Scrum@Scale, FAST
  • Forming Teams – Patterns and Principles
  • Scaling Simulation Game II
  • Supporting Sustainable Change
  • Scaling with Agility – Change Management and Support Structures
  • Safe to Fail Experiments
Learn how to build a customized scaling method that meets your organizational needs from a trainer with over two decades of agile organizational experience.

Scale Your Agile Toolbox

Learn where and when to apply agile scaling patterns and principles.

Too heavy? Too light?
Is your organization’s scaling approach too heavy in some ways and too light in others?

Agile scaling methodologies offer great starting points for many companies. However, many factors in an organization can necessitate a flexible scaling approach, such as company growth, application across organizational functions and differing project contexts. Knowing what patterns are out there and what makes sense for you can be overwhelming; we try to simplify and make it applicable.
What's Next?

Are you wondering what’s next in agile scaling?

Formal agile scaling methods have mostly emerged in the last decade, but they have evolved quickly. Several new entrants such as UnFIX, FAST, Essence and Org Topologies take unconventional approaches to scaling that might better suit your dynamic environment. We might even talk a little bit about AI.

Build Your Own Approach?

Could you build your own agile scaling approach from first principles?

We can’t promise that you’ll emerge with a whole new methodology in two days, but you’ll get the basic tools and principles needed to start the job! Ideas like descaling and methods like Heart of Agile emphasize the value of subtraction and simplification, so perhaps your ideal method won’t be too complicated after all.
