Scrum Alliance: Certified ScrumMaster (CSM)

Take the worlds first, and most respected agile certification course, from an approved rep with a authorized Certified Scrum Trainer (CST)

Take the worlds first, and most respected agile certification course, from an approved organization

The Scrum Alliance Certified Scrum Master® (CSM) Certification is the first, most trusted, and most respected certification in the agile community. If you are looking to become a CSM, our course is a starting point of your journey. For experienced practitioners, it is a reflection point.

For experienced practitioners, validate your experience and hone techniques that will improve your skill set. For beginners, get exposure to the mindset and principles of agility to expedite your agile journey.

After the session, you will be registered with the Scrum Alliance® to take the certifying exam. We pay for the exam, which you can take from any computer or smart-phone with Internet access. After passing the test, you will be a Certified Scrum Master®. More importantly, you will be better positioned to grow agile in your organization and advance your career.

Don't waste your money or get scammed, choose a reputable, approved, training provider

Scrum Alliance® CSM Sessions can only be delivered by a Certified Scrum Trainer (CST). Becoming a CST is difficult and there are less than 300 CSTs world-wide, so many companies rent CSTs to deliver. We have in-house CST capability so our trainers have been vetted further and are motivated to deliver excellence.

Grow-Lean is an approved Scrum Alliance Path to Certified Scrum Professional (CSP) Provider. This means that in addition to the CSM we are authorized to deliver the Advanced Certified ScrumMaster (A-CSM), which is the course you will likely want after taking the CSM you are reviewing now.

Grow-Lean is an approved Scrum Alliance Registered Education Provider (REPs), meaning that we can list and deliver continuing education classes that earn you Scrum Education Units® (SEUs).

After class, leave ready to advance your company and your career.

  • Roles: Scrum Team, Scrum Master, Product Owner, Development Team Member
  • Ceremonies: Backlog Refinement, Sprint Planning, Daily Scrum, Sprint Review & Sprint Retrospective
  • Artifacts: Product Backlog, Sprint Backlog, Product Increment

You learn how Scrum exists in a larger organizational context, and how it varies from a waterfall project. We also review other influential agile Frameworks and how they align.

  • XP and DevOps: XP (Extreme Programming®) is a Scrum superset for engineering excellence, including Test Driven Development (TDD), refactoring (keeping a code base clean), pair working and continuous integration (CI). DevOps builds on XP and adds in continuous delivery (CD) to get to market frequently.
  • SAFe®, LeSS® Scrum@Scale®: Scaling frameworks that provides additional roles, ceremonies and artifacts to help multiple teams work together on a common product.
  • Kanban: Visualize, limit WIP, create flow, make policies explicit, change slowly.
  • Lean: The mother of agile, focus on value, create flow, optimize.
  • Lean Startup®: Agile applied to the business. Get to market quickly with a release that is also an experiment, learn from it, and adapt based on leanings.

Exercises, discussions, simulations, games, yes games, case studies, examples and fun, even jokes, are interwoven throughout the course to illustrate the principles being taught in an immersive, engaging manner so that you have fund and learn.

Training Style - A Mix of Methods

We mix a variety of methods to ensure that you have fun and grow your knowledge.

We keep the training session fun and energetic to you help you retain what you learn. Depending on the session, we use diverse techniques, combining exercises, games, skits, videos, simulations, immersions, discussion, and yes, even traditional slides, resulting in a multi-sensory learning experience.

You learn more about agile by doing agile.

In some sessions, you will create skits, games and other learning aids, then use them in the classroom to teach others, applying an agile process to create these learning aids, thus learning agile by doing agile.

In all sessions you will also learn from your peers, not just the trainer. Learning from your peers, and from your trainer's real world experience is critical as every journey towards agile growth is different, but there are common patterns that repeat themselves. Hearing these common patterns will help you convert abstract concepts into practical reality.

Through feedback from thousands of participants we have found this immersive, multi-pronged approach results in the best post class outcomes for the majority of participants.
