SAFe® is a scaling framework for executing large initiatives. It wraps principles from Scrum, Kanban, XP and provides additional ceremonies, roles and artifacts. By attending this session you will be in a better position to align people with value streams and establish a program-level cadence for releases, you will also have access to the certification exam. Upon passing the exam you will become a SAFe® Agilist (SA)

As an example of how SAFe® expands on Scrum, SAFe® has a release-planning event, known as Program Increment (PI) Planning, that is often done quarterly. PI planning brings together teams of teams (think 50 to 200 people) in one physical location to plan the work for a deployment. This two-day course will prepare you to apply PI Planning and the SAFe$reg; framework in general, to synchronize alignment, collaboration, and delivery from Portfolio to Program to Team levels.

Leading SAFe (SAFe Agilist)

SAFe® is a scaling framework for executing large agile initiatives. It wraps together principles from Scrum and other frameworks and provides additional ceremonies, roles and artifacts. By attending this session you will be in a better position to plan large efforts by aligning people with value streams and establishing a program-level cadence for releases.

SAFe® is appropriate when you have a large number of agile teams that must collaborate to deliver a product. SAFe® builds on base that includes Scrum, Kanban, Extreme Programming, Lean Principles and product development flow, adding new roles, ceremonies and a rtifacts. For example SAFe® describes the concept of the Agile Release Train (ART), which synchronizes teams to ensure consistent deployment of product to market. A seminal event to manage an ART is a two-day, quarterly, release-planning event, known as Program Increment (PI) Planning. PI planning brings together teams of teams (think 50 to 200 people) in one physical location to plan the work for a deployment.

This two-day course will prepare you to apply the SAFe® to synchronize alignment, collaboration, and delivery from Portfolio to Program to Team levels. Participants will develop an understanding of how the principles and practices of the framework support Lean, Agile, the Agile Release Train (ART), portfolio management, agile architecture, and scaling agile processes and practices across the enterprise.

This Leading SAFe® course is a prerequisite for obtaining the SAFe® Agilist (SA) Certification.

Attendees of this course should ideally have taken Certified ScrumMaster®, Certified Scrum Product Owner® or other similar course prior to attending this session. This Leading SAF®e course is a prerequisite for obtaining the SAFe Agilist (SA) Certification.
